Biography
Billy Kaplan started as a bullied teenager from Manhattan who discovered he could bend reality by repeating what he wanted out loud. He joined the Young Avengers as Asgardian, changed the codename to Wiccan for obvious reasons, and then discovered something far stranger: he is one of the twin souls Wanda Maximoff created and lost, reincarnated into a human family.
That makes him the son of the Scarlet Witch and Vision, the brother of Speed, and the potential Demiurge, a being capable of rewriting magic across the universe. Billy's power ceiling is terrifying and his confidence rarely matches it, which is exactly why he works. His marriage to Hulkling in 2020 was one of the highest-profile queer weddings in mainstream superhero comics, and it made him the consort of an interstellar empire.

Comics history
Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung introduced Billy in Young Avengers #1 as Asgardian, and the reveal of his connection to Wanda Maximoff was the spine of the original run and of Avengers: The Children's Crusade in 2010, where he and the team hunted a missing Scarlet Witch.
Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's 2013 Young Avengers made Billy the potential Demiurge and framed the run around his relationship with Teddy Altman, giving the pairing a level of centrality rare for queer leads in a mainstream Marvel book at the time.
Empyre in 2020 crowned Hulkling emperor of the Kree/Skrull Alliance and married the two of them, and Billy has since appeared in Strange Academy adjacent stories and various Avengers titles as one of Marvel's heaviest magical hitters in waiting.
