Biography
America Chavez comes from the Utopian Parallel, a reality outside the multiverse's normal rules, and she left it after her mothers sacrificed themselves to seal a dimensional breach. She arrived on Earth with no interest in being anyone's protégé and a habit of solving problems by kicking a star-shaped hole in the universe and stepping through it. Very little about her is negotiable.
She became the muscle and the moral floor of the Young Avengers, the one who tells Wiccan when the spell is a bad idea and Loki when the plan is a lie. Marvel has since pushed her into the cosmic tier with the Ultimates, given her a solo series that made her the first Latina LGBTQ+ character to headline a Marvel book, and dropped her into the MCU's multiverse as the one person who can travel it at will.

Comics history
Joe Casey and Nick Dragotta created America in Vengeance #1 in 2011 as part of a new Teen Brigade, before Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie folded her into Young Avengers in 2013, where she became the team's blunt instrument and its conscience.
Al Ewing's Ultimates promoted her to the cosmic tier alongside Captain Marvel, Blue Marvel and Monica Rambeau, dealing with Galactus and the structure of the multiverse itself.
Gabby Rivera's 2017 America series made her the first Latina LGBTQ+ character to headline an ongoing Marvel title, sending her to Sotomayor University. She has since appeared across West Coast Avengers, Champions and the various Young Avengers revivals.
