Biography
Kronos ruled the Eternals of Titan until an experiment into the fundamental nature of existence destroyed his physical body and released him as a being of pure cosmic energy, effectively an abstract entity concerned with time. He is the father of Mentor and Zuras, which makes him the great-grandfather of Thanos, and Marvel's Titan mythology runs directly through him.
His most consequential act was creating Drax. When Thanos murdered the Douglas family on Earth, Kronos took Arthur Douglas' soul, built it a purpose-made body and named the result the Destroyer, aimed at his own descendant. He debuted in Iron Man #55, the same issue that introduced Thanos, Mentor and Drax, which makes it one of the densest single issues in Marvel's cosmic history.

Comics history
