The story
Steven Grant works a gift-shop job at a London museum, chains himself to his bed at night and keeps waking up in other countries with sand in his shoes. He is one of at least three people sharing a body with a mercenary named Marc Spector, who is indentured to an Egyptian moon god.
Arthur Harrow, a former avatar of Khonshu, wants to free the goddess Ammit so she can judge people for crimes they have not committed yet. The series is at its best when it stops being a Marvel adventure entirely — the asylum episode and the Field of Reeds sequence are unlike anything else the franchise has made.

- The post-credits scene reveals Jake Lockley, the third alter, executing Harrow on Khonshu's behalf — completing the comics' three-identity structure.
- Khonshu, Ammit and the Ennead council of Egyptian gods are all drawn from the comics' Moon Knight mythology.
- Mr. Knight's white three-piece suit comes from Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey's 2014 run, and the series makes it a distinct alter's costume.

Oscar Isaac's committed dual performance and a willingness to get genuinely strange make Moon Knight one of the MCU's more distinctive outings, even when the plot mechanics creak.

The most interesting Marvel series and the least resolved — a psychological horror show that keeps having to stop for a god fight. Isaac is extraordinary and the asylum episode is the best hour of MCU television. The CG-god finale is exactly the ending the show spent five episodes proving it did not need.
