Biography
Korg is a Kronan, one of the silicon-based Stone Men from Saturn whose species first turned up in Thor's very first appearance. Greg Pak and Carlo Pagulayan gave the species a face in Planet Hulk, where Korg was a gladiator slave on Sakaar who became one of the Hulk's Warbound, the crew who fought their way out of the arena and stayed loyal long after they had any reason to.
The screen version, voiced and motion-captured by Taika Waititi, kept the loyalty and dialled the menace to zero. Korg's calm, conversational delivery in the middle of gladiatorial combat became one of Thor: Ragnarok's defining jokes, and by Love and Thunder he was the narrator of the whole story. Very few characters have made the jump from background alien species to franchise mascot.

Comics history
The Kronans debuted in Journey into Mystery #83 in 1962 as the Stone Men from Saturn, the very first threat Thor ever faced. Korg himself arrived decades later in The Incredible Hulk #93 during Greg Pak's Planet Hulk, as a fellow arena slave who becomes part of the Warbound.
He carried through World War Hulk and its aftermath, then reappeared across various Hulk and cosmic titles. Thor: Ragnarok relocated him to Sakaar's gladiator pits alongside the Hulk, a direct nod to Planet Hulk, and the films have kept him with Thor ever since.
