Character profile
Daisy Louise Johnson
She can start an earthquake in a room. Nick Fury noticed immediately.
Daisy Johnson is the daughter of Calvin Zabo, better known as Mister Hyde, and she can generate seismic waves with her hands. Nick Fury recruited her personally, used her on his most deniable operations, and eventually built the Secret Warriors around her. When S.H.I.E.L.D. was rebuilt after Siege, Daisy became its Director, which makes her one of very few characters to run the agency without ever fully belonging to it.
She is best known to a wider audience through Chloe Bennet's seven-season run on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., where the character started as the hacker Skye and grew into Quake across the series' most ambitious arcs. That show did more to establish her than any comic, and modern Marvel comics have adjusted her accordingly.
Rated 1–7 on the classic Marvel power-grid scale.
Daisy produces vibrational waves capable of levelling buildings, cracking ground and stopping hearts.
At fine control she can trigger a quake inside a single object or a single body.
She projects vibrational blasts as offensive weapons at range.
Fury trained her personally in infiltration, marksmanship and tradecraft.
Her physiology tolerates the feedback her own powers generate, up to a point.
Bendis and Gabriele Dell'Otto created Daisy in Secret War #2 as one of Fury's off-books recruits for the unsanctioned Latveria operation. Jonathan Hickman's Secret Warriors made her the field leader of Fury's caterpillar team, and after Siege she was appointed Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., serving through the Secret Avengers era.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reworked her as Skye, an orphaned hacker who discovers she is Inhuman, and spent seven seasons building her into the show's lead. The comics have since folded elements of that version back in.
